Hello there! I’m Raissa.

About Raissa

As a 1.5-generation settler on Turtle Island, Raissa was first moved to challenge the status quo because marginalized individuals and communities are often seen as inferior in our communities.

Raissa identifies as a cis female, an immigrant, a visible minority, a disabled individual, and an individual with multiple chronic illnesses; she lives every day with what it means to be labelled as a marginalized person.

Raissa has dedicated her activism to creating intentionally safer spaces for individuals to share their stories. She inspires empathy and creativity by sharing her candid personal experiences and passion for creating a future where children receive equitable healthcare.

She recently had the honour of being the youngest person in her cohort to be awarded the 2024 Top 25 Women of Influence.
